Since 1991, CDL has been an Authorised Co-Provider working with IBM (MRO Software UK Limited back then), customising their market leading asset management solution, Maximo® software, for various blue-chip clients across Europe and Middle East.
As an enterprise solution for mission-critical industries (energy, oil&gas, transportation, utilities, finance, government, healthcare...), Maximo software provides extensive configuration and enhancement capabilities which can be tailored individual implementations. When this is coupled with global, enterprise-wide deployment models and provision of business critical systems this results in large implementation projects. Within this project structure a large part is delivered on site (or multiple sites).
With the advent of new technologies and market focus on cost of implementation, IBM provides Professional Services focused on high value delivery of the Maximo projects. To enhance this value delivery objective, IBM engages primary co-providers to ensure that project resourcing can be effectively scaled and deployed in line with customer demands.
This has gradually crystallized IBM's three main reasons to outsource various segments of work to an external provider. These are:
- The need for quality resources, on- and off-site, in volumes matching the current demand, to avoid budget over spend
- The need for a loyal and long-term service provider, who will not abuse contacts and inside knowledge to "poach" clients
- The need for offshore development at minimum risk to gain a competitive edge on the market
Our company matched this profile, and after 18 years of cooperation and over 130 successful Maximo® implementations, they remain confident in their selection. In the last year alone, we participated on Maximo® implementations in USA, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and the UK.
For all these reasons we were awarded MRO's first ever "Co-provider of the year award" in 2002, complimented by the following words of James Fair, VP of MRO Software EMEA:
"CDL and MRO have been strategic partners for a number of years and have established a strong working relationship with us during this time. They offer our customers advanced technical skills and a high level of professionalism, which complements our own professional service team."
